Yes he is in there... a player at Canucks prospect camp....wearing the same shirt I saw him wearing in Cuba, when he was disguised as citizen Hannay and not hockey player Hannay. He can't escape me. Sometimes he tries, by wearing a blue T-shirt to blend in with the other boys, but it doesn't work.
Also, Sea Dog Steven Anthony is running the prospect blog this year, so I suggest checking him out...if you like Sea Dogs (the bath house, or the team, whichever you choose).
Good luck on the grouse grind boys. No diss but some of my girlfriends did it today. I don't know their times, but I hope and pray the Q-boys can do better.

Funk
Nobody likes a fun killer...so thanks a lot stinky Sea Dogs for a 6-2 ass whoopin' on Wednesday night. A whoopin that happened almost entirely within a 3 minute span of the third period. The Sea Dogs are almost as much of a downer as me and I have been spending years perfecting my "misery" skillz.
Wha? Nah!
I am feeling better, crawling out of my neurosis induced rut. I think that a shootout win by team Canada and getting to look at Martin Brodeur, his sexy Santa belly and his scruffy old chest protector helped a bit.
...but this is a Mooseheads blog not a Team Canada blog and it is most definitely not my "dear, Diary" so I should just get over my emotional outbursts and stick to hockey.
The Moose played a scrappy game against the Sea Dogs and the Sea Dogs scrapped back. As Lady GaGa would say "It's not how big, it's how mean" which could, if you would like, help to explain the usefullness of Garrett Clarke. I would be a fool if I ignored his diva-like behavior since it sometimes makes the game funner to watch. I mean, it's not fun to watch your team lose in the last minutes of the game while Clarke sits in the penalty box diddling with himself. No, that's not fun at all. What is fun is when he destroys boys with big hits and frustrates the shit out of the opposing team and makes all hell break loose on the ice.
I ascribe to a similar philosophy but I actually prefer big AND mean (take that as you will)...
... so when Clarke throws Sauve off his game and makes him behave all like the Cunty princess of Cuntland on blades, well, then I get really excited. I don't yell and scream like some Mooseter club loonies (oh, they know who they are), instead I just sit and calmly watch it all unfold like a graceful display of dickishness and anarchy. It is beautiful. Well, not Clarke's acting. That is more in line with the work of Heidi Montag than, say, Cate Blanchett. Kid deserves a Razzie for his dives.
I mean, really? What did you expect would happen when the "best" team in the country finally decided to "show up"?
The positive part was the Mooseheads penalty kill, which was a travesty that first night in Rimouski, was back on form. The Dogs were only able to score on 1/8 power play opportunities.
The Moose also DOMINATED faceoffs - winning 41 of 58. So if you are looking at the Sea Dog's Zach Phillips and thinking "oh wow": 1 goal, 2 assists and 1st star honors - just remember he was 1/9 on the faceoffs. He ain't so hot!
On a similar vein, when I had looked at Tomas Knotek's faceoff stats while in Rimouski I almost cried. I was ready to fly to the Czech republic, kidnap his girlfriend and have her forcibly confined back in Canada. We could smuggle her from game to game in a hockey bag in the guts of the bus. Tomas' rommie could sleep in the hall while he got his 'thang' on. Tomas plays much, MUCH better when there is a girl around that he feels the need to impress*.
No diss on Tomas though. He played an OK game. He wasn't as dominant as he can be, but he did have a goal. He is now 3 points from that elusive PPG status (48 points in 51 games). Bety had the other goal and was the recipient of starz. Cookies go to Linden Bahm though because we had a "moment" in the first period where he was being all feisty... which ended with him blocking a shot and getting hurt and then beings slightly less feisty...but still. Don't deny us our moment!
As for Corbeil. Wow. You know during the breakaways and all that he was a total beast. In fact he was a beast for about 57 minutes. Unfortunately, it is all fun and games until someone loses an eye ...or allows 3 goals in a brief 3 minute span. No hate. Just love. Love and chocolate! I am a very forgiving girl. I wonder if Mathieu can do 1-legged squats? hmmmmmmmm. If he demonstrated a one-leg squat for me I would make sure he got his chocolate. Actually, Delmas also gets chocolate. I mean he answered Ovie over Crosby. That is the correct answer! No one-legged squats required.
Special note to Alex LeMeowMeowMeowMeow.
Maybe fighting isn't your thing. There is really no harm in being a "lover, not a fighter". Of course, there is no harm in being a lover AND a fighter either, but that is more of an off-ice activity.

11 days later
I hope everything has calmed down in the world.
Clearly, I have brought the blog back online. To punish me for going offline the Moose played bunch of awesome games and got 5 muthafuckin' points in their last 3 games
...and my blog was down (insert your own reason why in here) so I couldn't write about my beloved Mooseheads.
For those not in the know the Mooseheads spent this past week being awesome. They lost 5-4 in the shootout against the #1 ranked Saint john Sea Dogs, then they (finally) defeated their arch rivals the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles by a score of 3-2. Last, but not least, they won 5-4 in the shootout against the PEI Rocket.
The only team in the division that the Mooseheads have not yet defeated this season - the BATHURST TITAN. There are no words. NO WORDS. Well, one word - shame!

- There was Garrett Clarke drama. See here, here, and here.
- Knotek has been possessed by a demon. He is all feisty and shit. Hitting people even!
- Desjardins is on fire with 2 goals, 2 assists and one shootout winner in the past three games.
- The newspaper wrote a story about my defenceman boyfriend Hannay. Speaking of boys who fight: I am watching hockey highlights right now and I wonder - why the fuck does anybody even try to fight Chara? It's not even like you get a moral victory. It's just stupid and embarrassing for the guy who is "not Chara".

uuuuuuuggggggg
So that is my Christmas gift is it? The Mooseheads lost 7-1 to the Saint John Sea Dogs.
An intermission interview with Garrett Clarke taught me that I should cut Clarke some slack. He likes the Flyers. That explains everything. If I had snagged a Clarke poster I would be licking it right now.
I enjoy the Flyers. I enjoy them a lot. I almost forgot how much I enjoy assholes, like Clarke and the Flyers, because all the goals other teams have been scoring on the power play while Clarke sits in the penalty box trying to find Gabriel O'Connor's hidden stash of porno mags kinda blinded me with rage.
Dude, the pornos are just a myth. No need to be in that box. Let's hang, have a beer and talk about how we would let Philly put their P in our V. I would take a ride on Carcillo's moustache. Would you? So it's agreed! We should both wear more orange to demonstrate our love for Philly. We should start a club.
As for Boston over Montreal? - fuckin' eh! I agree! Why have I been wetting my panties for all those Toronto loving chumps and Sidney Crosby fans. I mean honestly - who the fuck chooses Crosby over Ovie? Half-wits, that's who!
Here, let me just kick my real bf (a Toronto fan), my imaginary bf (not a Moosehead player but also a Toronto fan), Jessyko and Sawyer out of my bed and make you a little nest out of frilly unmentionables and soft girlie bits. Oh hey baby. That interview was the best part of the night.
Wait! How do you feel about David Clarkson of the NJ Devils?
Please don't think that this is an endorsement of you being "too cool for school". I actually prefer dorks with a secret evil streak...and a big...
Everything that happened AFTER the first period and after Clarke's interview is totally not worth talking about. The second period was a disaster. The third period was just counting down the time until the end of the game.
I am just happy that Grondin was able to come into the game in relief of Corbeil and play well. It has been a while since he has played and I have not been nervous. He must have learned to "look forwards, not backwards, upwards, not forwards". The Hannay/Thomas fight was also pretty impressive... in that Hannay was not destroyed.

A Pre-Christmas miracle
Well, the first miracle was Cam making Garrett Clarke a healthy scratch. So now guys have to sit out for playing irresponsibly and taking a bazillion unnecessary penalties? Since when? Scratch that theory. Clarke was out with a groin injury.
The second miracle - the Halifax Mooseheads (8-25-1-2) defeated the Saint John Sea Dogs (30-6-1-0) in their barn by a score of 4-2. Jessyko Bernard had the game winning goal and Mathieu Corbeil made 33 saves for the win. My 3 boyfriends were rocking tonight. Even my defenceman boyfriend Sawyer Hannay had an assist and a team best +2 for the game. What would it be called if I had 3 boys in my bed at once (for snuggling)? Foursome is just too boring. Let's call it a tetra pack! One person for every goal. Cookies in bed?
Halifax was 2-4 on the powerplay and had 4 goals on 24 shots. Amyot, Bety and Gelinas had the other goals for the Mooseheads.
Other amazing things:

Herd's patchwork D gets job done
Also, Konrad Abeltshauser is doing awesome in France with the German junior team and is a +8 in 3 games. Go, K Go.
Other crazy news - Twenty year old goaltender Nicola Riopel (Moncton Wildcats) will be returning to the Q after playing a half season with the Adirondack Phantoms of the AHL.

- Grant had 2 assists and is now on an 8 game point streak, currently tied with Danick Paquette (Remparts) for the longest current streak in the league.
- Travis Randell won 13 of 20 faceoffs and is now some sort of faceoff ninja
- Gillard is injured. I would ask if he wants me to kiss him better where it hurts, but he is a Newfie and thus I know he would suggest something naughty. Damn Newfies and their boy bits...always causing trouble.
- New behbeh defencemen Trey Lewis and Jamie Bishop were playing and Bishop had a point and was awarded with the 3rd star of the game.
- Desjardins, Gelinas, Dimitruk and Lemieux also had assists.
- Carl Gelinas is the Mooseheads' winner of the RDS mid-season rookie excellence award.

Busy or lazy? Pre-game/post game
I have not run off and committed suicide following the demotion of Alex MacDonald. I have just been so busy that I don't want to spend my down time blogging. I have lost my creative juices. Blame science.
Last Wednesday the Mooseheads lost to the Saint John Sea Dogs by a score of 3-2. The game was so close up until the last few minutes when Pard got a goal for the Sea Dogs. Apparently the Moose Deserved to win.
The Moose were 2/4 on the power play with goals by Carl Gelinas (Amyot, Abeltshauser) and Gerrad Grant (Knotek, Clarke). Corbeil stopped 23 of 26 shots and was the second star of the game. For that he is also getting cookies, but the lazy kind -Pillsbury, because I am lazy. Sooooo lazy.
Please note that the Sea Dogs are currently leading the division and the Moose are way behind. They played a pretty damn tough game considering. Here is hoping to the beginning of some new point streaks for Knotek and Grant, the second coming of Gelinas, and the metamorphosis of Bahm from a 3/4th line grinder to a 3/4th line grinder that also scores (a girl can dream).
I have more embarrassing blingees prepared. Gelinas is safe for now.
Tonight the Moose play the Val d'Or Foreurs. In 2.5 hours I hope to see more balls-out hockey, just like the boys played in Saint John.

Give me one reason to stay here...
The Halifax Mooseheads were shut out by the Saint John Sea Dogs by a score of 4-0.
Pink in the rink is cursed.
I don't know what to say. Ummmm Gillard did something fancy in the first period and Grant's point streak ended (sads).
Overall the game did not leave me very excited...nor did the beer. I found it rather dull. To make matters worse I couldn't even win a pink game worn jersey. I think the thing is rigged *paranoid*. There were too many previous winners who won again tonight.
I will post more about the game later. Instead of detailed blogging I have chosen instead to edit some game photos for facebook. All the boys have an eerie pink glow. I have also uploaded Metcalfe's intermission performance.

David Connell finally has his old pictures from the HFX game in Saint John posted but he does not have last night's pics posted yet. I'll let you know when that happens.
Just a few notes.
I opted for pink pictures instead of more words. I either need a better camera or I need to sit behind glass that isn't so scratched up. I swear that they haven't cleaned it since the start of LAST season.

I think Metcalfe may be right about Jessyko Bernard (totally boyfriend material/ could make a girl laugh for hours) but not right about girl on boy attraction. It doesn't matter how good a guy's body is if he doesn't have the appropriately sized equipment and boys with extra large equipment can rule the world... even if they don't have abs of steel.

Just a few notes.
- Ugggg Mathieu you should have had #3. I thought you had #3. Why didn't you stop goal #3?
- Dimitruk does not play defence like the other Mooseheads. It confuses me. I am not sure if that is good or bad.
- I wish Gelinas and Desjardins (sick) could play on a line together. Why must they both be left wingers?
- Honestly Gelinas, Bety, Bernard you have to step the fuck back up and start getting goals. Desi gets a pass today because he is sick and did not play. I will verbally spank him after next Thursday's game.
- Like honestly Cam - if you hate Alex MacDonald so much just send him down now. You are making us all suffer by dragging this out. Cut him or let the damn boy play some hockey.
- ...and Cam- you are not going to build a team that can score if you draft only character players. To put this in NJ Devils terms - David Clarkson is able to fight, look pretty AND put the puck in the net. Our 'David Clarksons' only do 2 of 3 (and Travis Randell does a different set of 2 out of 3). Who wants to be Zach Parise?
- Who do you give cookies to during a shutout? I've considered Dimitruk for looking different out there. I've considered Grant for the almost goals. I've considered Gillard for the fancy puck work. I've considered Metcalfe for making me look like a good singer. I am kinda stuck. At this point would just give it to the guy with the biggest penis...but that is information which I do know, nor do I have any desire to know.

We lose because...
...we are so young and we have so many rookies. Right?

Wrong!
The Mooseheads lost to the Saint John Sea Dogs by a score of 6-1. It appears as if there was a total meltdown in the third period. Where is the stamina?
Did you know that the Sea Dogs have three 16 year olds on their roster and only two 20 year olds? Did you know that their average age is 17.87 - much younger than the Moose? Did you know that they are missing their top two defencemen because Sauve and Despres are still away at NHL camp? Did you notice that they are currently leading the division in points?
Age ain't nothing but a number!
Cookies to Randell for the goal. Bety gets the crumbs because he did not lose his fight.

Pet the other Sea Dogs
Once, I saw Yann Sauve take a fit and throw one of my Moosies up against the glass in a rage. Time froze. I felt sooooo funny down there. This sudden outburst of violence induced the friskiest feeling I have ever felt at a hockey game.
It is currently development camp time (kinda) and Saint John Sea Dogs' defenceman Yann Suave has been in Vancouver getting his hockey stuff on. To prove that he is not all irrational bouts of panty melting violence, he has written a blog about his time at development camp. See totally regular boy stuff - awww he makes his own pasta.
Sure, I may be 5 days late on this one but don't hold that against me. Yann wouldn't! He would rather spend all of his down-time blogging and trying to be "one of us" than hanging out with the guys. Blogging totally buys him kisses... that and his baby blues, his hair, his tall buff defenceman body, etc.

This is Important Stuff
David Stich! oh yeah! Sure he is not a Moose but he gets honorary boyfriend status because he is tough as nails and has unbelievable shot blocking prowess. Also, all Sea Dogs are my secret lovers - check the archive.
Twenty year old Stich, a former defenceman (and captain - bow chica wow wow) for the Saint John Sea Dogs, is now at Blackhawks development camp. He had received an amateur tryout with the Hartford Wolf Pack in both 2008 and 2009 but apparently was unloved by the wolf pack. This is because they are a Rangers affiliate and the Rangers are a bunch of stupid Cunts. I hate them like I hate the Penguins. Oh, how I irrationally hate the Rangers. I hate them so much!!!
Stich in Blackhawks red is sooooo much sexier.
Surely the hawks cannot be dumb enough to let him slip through their fingers. Can they?
I have two words for you. Write them down so you can remember - 1) Rangers! 2) Chumps!

You hurt you more than you hurt me
The Halifax Mooseheads lost to the Saint John Sea Dogs by a score of 3-2, thus officially eliminating them from contention for the 2009 QMJHL playoffs.
What can I say? I am personally offended* that Jessyko Bernard sat in favour of Guillaume (broken knee) Pelletier. Here we are in a MUST WIN game and we sit a hard working forward in favour of a guy who has not played since December, a guy who only received 2 shifts all game. This means that the Mooseheads were running with 7 defencemen and essentially 10 forwards... because exhausting your forwards by only running 3 lines is the SMARTEST thing you can do in a MUST WIN game.
As usual, Jessyko was amusing in the intermission interview. He is apparently making good use of that 'Dance Dance Revolution' game I theoretically gave him for X-mas. However did I know? Call it a woman's intuition. He is a triple threat: singer, dancer, hockey player. He can also do sit, paw, rollover and attack. Unfortunately, I have never spotted him wandering through the concourse during intermissions. It is like he is trying to avoid me, probably because he knows that I am crazy and I that if I were to see him I would try to pet him and give him a milkbone.
The game:
Bernard, O'Brien, Dunn and Boland were sitting out for the Moose
Randell, Knotek and Grant played together
Stransky, Desjardins and Piette played together
Cheremetiev, Bahm and Louis-XVI played together.
Bety was a floater.** (epic fail - see edit below)
The Moose were slow to start but they did have some high energy shifts, one of the best being a shift by Stransky, Desjardins and Piette about 10 minutes into the first period. Despite the effort, the Moose just could not opportunize, and lost their one goal lead early in the second period. Robert Mayer was a little shaky but he did make some excellent saves and when he does the splits my groin hurts, not from lust, but merely out of sympathy.
The SeaDogs had 32 shots on net, and no power play goals. Unfortunately at least one of those Sea Dogs goals was kinda soft. No, flowers are not going to cut it!! Besides, that is not even me - that is Gerrad Grant (damn that mynx). Gerrad always wears the yellow dress, because as every model knows, yellow is the hot colour for spring. I am the one (temporarily) skulking away to find a cute little spriggin' such as Drew Owsley to comfort me. Just give me a second...OK, I'm over it.
But I still wonder why Yetman was not called to the bench earlier... it is not like he wasn't rearing to leave when the Moose were applying serious pressure in the Sea Dogs zone with just under 2 minutes to go... because, you know, this game was all about smart decisions: like sitting Jessyko out, or separating your top three scorers into 3 different lines.
Notes:
Matthew Wuest interviewed Eric Louis-XVI for his latest game review:
*OK that is a lie. I am not personally offended by anything, especially not a player sitting. However, I do lubs me some Jessyko. I call dibs.

Notes:
- I just remembered that the most disappointing thing about yesterday's game was O'Brien saying that he liked Nickelback.
- The way the guys behind me bitch about Bona you would think that he is Judas. Like sometimes I even think that "Damn Bona" is the official psalm of their religion. I hate them. Apparently I am intolerant of religions that I simply do not understand.
- Desjardins had a brilliant opportunity in the second period and shot for the empty net, but a Sea Dogs defender stopped the puck in mid air with his stick. It was worlds of disappointing.
- Mooseheads goals were by Tomas Knotek (from Stransky and Randell) on the power play, and Gerrad Grant (from Knotek and Justin Pender). Both were very nice goals, but Gerrad's was nicer.
- When the game ended the boys looked soooooo dejected. They are much more disappointed about this than me.
- Martin Brodeur did not look so dejected...oops sorry, wrong game. RAWR.
Matthew Wuest interviewed Eric Louis-XVI for his latest game review:
“That’s very tough for us,” said 19-year-old forward Eric Louis-Seize, outside a dejected locker room afterward. “We were expecting to come out with two wins (against Saint John). It’s hard for us. We didn’t quit, we didn’t stop battling, and it’s disappointing.”__________________________________________
...All that’s left to be determined on Sunday is whether the Mooseheads will finish the season tied with the franchise’s lowest single-season point total. They are currently tied with the 2003-04 entry with 44 points, and need a win or overtime/shootout loss to move ahead.
“We’re not changing our game plan,” Louis-Seize said. “It doesn’t matter if we’re out of the playoffs, we’re coming out with the same attitude. This is the last time we’re all together here and nobody’s giving up.”
*OK that is a lie. I am not personally offended by anything, especially not a player sitting. However, I do lubs me some Jessyko. I call dibs.

Dance Monkey Dance
Honestly! A five on three for a whole minute and not once was there a guy with his ass parked in front of the net. What the fuck is wrong with this scene?
The Mooseheads lost 5-4 to the Saint John Sea Dogs in the shootout. They blew a first period 3-1 lead. They want to torture me. WHY DO YOU HATE ME?
For that I blog about nothing but my bitterness and extreme frustration. This fits perfectly into the frustration ball I am building as a result of all of my other wretched life situations and defective bits. The QMJHL game summary should be of some use in figuring out what happened. See? Mooseheads on the bottom, Sea Dogs on top. You can recognize the Mooseheads because they have unbelieveably high proportion of sharp angle shots, hence the 14 in 45.
Since both Lewiston and Val d'Or were defeated tonight it means that the Mooseheads are still in the playoff race, only 2 points from tying it up with these other two epic losers.
Bah humbug.
Cookies go to O'Connor. I saw him do some nice defensive things.

Dear Cam,
Please try someone new in the shootouts. I don't know, maybe someone like Desjardins, Bety, or Bernard. What is that? It is too late! Well Fuck you too!

Monday updates: hope fading
You can thank your Gods that somebody actually gets paid to cover the Mooseheads, and thus they have deadlines and write logical, sensible, sports news with far more scoring summaries and far less cooing about eyebrows. These people are Matthew Wuest and Willy Palov. Thanks to them and their writing, I had the luxury of drinking, wii playing (losing), and all around fun last evening. I did not have to worry about blogging a Moose vs Sea Dogs game I could not watch because of the shittiest ever QMJHL feed. It also means I did not get to see the third period collapse that allowed the Dogs to win it 4-1.
Jessyko Bernard had the only goal for the Moose. You know what that means - puppy biscuits; not milk bones, but the fancy gourmet kind from Bark and Fitz.
The Sea Dogs have a good online record of this stuff. Game highlights can be viewed here, a game summary can be viewed at the Sea Dogs website (as well as a few game photos), and at some point in the very near future game photos will be posted on David Connell's photography page. Good times with the Sea Dogs. You can also read about the game at the Telegraph Journal. Apparently Amyot was conspiring with his former team in the loss. Tsk Tsk. That is no way to win my heart.
Wuest points out the obvious:
Palov gives us the gory details too:
My opinion:
Around the Q:
1) The Acadie Bathurst Titan are staying put. Good - for soooo many reasons.
2) Two of my boyfriends have won the QMJHL player of the week awards. If it were not for these I would have no idea that my darling boyfrienemy, Keven Veilleux, had fully recovered from shoulder surgery and was back in the Oceanic lineup. Sometimes I am a bad secret imaginary girlfriend, especially when the boy I hate to love and love to hate plays in a different division... for a team I can't stand. Apparently he has been back in the lineup since Feb 11th. I should get a spanking for being so indifferent.
Veilleux has 3 goals and 6 assists in 3 games. Maybe he made chicken legs at the opposition- I don't know. They really should give prizes for a players' willingness to make chicken legs at the opposition, thus making the opposition look like pussies - *cough* Bryce Swan *cough*.
Veilleux is also the Sportsnet hot player of the week, most likely because he is 6'5" of man meat and cute as a button. It has nothing to do with all of the goals and assists, NOTHING.
3) Screaming Eagles goaltender Olivier Roy is the defensive player of the week. This is his third time winning the honours this season. "In two starts, Roy helped the Screaming Eagles defeat two division rivals: Saint John and Moncton. He posted a 2.00 goals-against-average and .932 save percentage during that span."
4) 'Chubbeh bunneh' boyfriend Maxime Clermont, goaltender for the Gatineau Olympiques is the Sportsnet cold player of the week.
I hate to see a goalie be all cold and alone, shivering in their net like a wet dog. It makes me want to wrap them in blankets, give them hot chocolate with marshmellows, and be all nice in the nurturing way and not the 'which part of you am I going to nibble next' way. According to sportsnet: The sophomore goaltender had a week to forget. Clermont was pulled in all three starts last week, allowing a total of 13 goals on 39 shots for a ghastly 0.667 save percentage.

Wuest points out the obvious:
The Mooseheads lost 4-1 on the road to the Saint John Sea Dogs to stay three points out of a QMJHL playoff spot, trailing the Lewiston Maineiacs and Val-d’Or Foreurs.
Lewiston and Val-d’Or both lost yesterday and are tied with 46 points, each with two games remaining. The last-place Mooseheads, who managed a 3-2 road win over the Bathurst Titan on Saturday night, need to move past Lewiston and Val-d’Or and have 43 points with four games to go.
In a nutshell, the Mooseheads are guaranteed to make the playoffs if they win their final four games of the year. They haven’t won more than two straight games all season.
Palov gives us the gory details too:
With the game tied 1-1 heading into the third period, the Mooseheads were in position to take a run at their second key road win in as many days. But Saint John’s Shea Kewin banked a pass in off Halifax defenceman Pascal Amyot at 9:32 of the final period to spoil the party.
My opinion:
- When the Moose are taking on the Sea Dogs we need to see lots of hitting. Games in which the Moose wear the dogs out are the games in which the Moose succeed.
- We need to see more shots from the slot. 36 shots, only 5 dangerous. Who is responsible for parking in front of the net? I am putting a mojito and a copy of Juggs there. Eventually some-Moose will wander in near the opposing net to check it out and we can get a goal off of a deflection or something.
- Charles Bety: long time, no goal honey. Like, 7 games. You should do something about that.

Long time no see
Edit - Bah - TONIGHT'S GAME IS CANCELLED. We are waiting for Sparling to get back into the SeaDogs lineup so he can thoroughly screw us over...yeah that's it. Read the rest of the blog post with caution.
For those not in the know, the Saint John Sea Dogs are my secret lovers. If I have to cheat on the Moose with any team in the league, it is the Sea Dogs. They know all the right buttons to push. Except, lately... I have no idea who the Sea Dogs are. Christmas brought a rush of trades. They quit on me and I have not had a fling with the Dogs since they let me down. I have been avoiding them because I don't want them to ply their old seductive tricks on me. I find them hard to resist.
The Sea Dogs will be back in town tonight, dragging along with them some of my old lovers: Stich, Despres, Sauve, Kirkpatrick and some new faces (who the hell is that guy? - I have really been keeping away from my Sea Dogs - I have no idea who half of these guys are, but Simon's eyebrows remain magnificent). Luckily for the Moose big scorers Ryan Sparling (concussion) and Shea Kewin (illness) will not be in the lineup, and the dogs will be down to 11 forwards and 7 defencemen for tonight's romp.
As for my Moose, the CHL insider has provided me with the following bits of happy news: Yes, Jessyko is 5th on the team in points. 12 goals, 12 assists. How very well balanced of him.
The Moose are 3 points out of a spot for the playoffs. The other losers keep losing. This means that we have to start winning. Look at the following losermobile chart*....LOOK at it.
Can it really be that difficult to get three points. We have a bunch of games remaining against PEI and if we can't slap them around like they are the kinda whores who like being slapped around then what is the point of even playing them? The Moose play PEI like PEI is their special girl. They gently cradle them and make sweet, sweet love to them; whisper sweet nothings in their rocket-y ears. It makes me sick. They would probably go see 'confessions of a shopaholic' or 'He's just not that into you' at the movies with the Rocket just because the Rocket asked them to. Oh gag me with a dick. Lady GaGa is so right when she says "and baby when it's love if it's not rough it isn't fun".

Matthew Wuest - It's do or die time for the Mooseheads
Yep the Moose have to start winning. Wuest says so too and he uses a picture of Gerrad Grant to go with his story and illustrate his point, which means all of the pressure is on Grant. It is up to him to win this game for us. The look on his face says "damn".
Also, Yetman is apparently both shining and sparkling. Dear boys - keep out of your girlfriend's body lotions!!! Boys are not supposed to wear sparkle lotions. Sparkles will flake off and get in his eyes and what is a goalie without his eyes - fucking useless.
The Gouge was named the CHL goalie of the week. His winning, and looking good doing it, is more frustrating than being told you are getting a special penis delivered directly to your door and it never shows up. Oh as if that would ever happen.
Other stupid stuff:
PEI have updated their website again to finally include player profile videos. I will link you directly to Bobby Nadeau. Ohhhh heeeeyyyy goalie! I do adore him but PEI are a fucking drag to watch and Bobby needs to do some SERIOUS work on those eyebrows. He is killing me over here. I have a very hard time crushing out when his eyebrows look like that. It is a totally fixable situation.

*give Baie Comeau a bonus point. They went into OT last night.

Saint John's great big mutherfuckin' fire sale...
...everything must go. Our team, our time, my ASS.
Gone are:
Alex Grant (to Shawinigan)
Christopher DiDomenico (to Drummondville)
Pascal Amyot (to Halifax)
Alexei Dostoinov (to Gatineau)
Released are:
Matthew Stoddard
Kyle Dilosa
Stephen Walker
Is there anything else I need to know my dearest Sea Dogs?
Not only are the Sea Dogs ridding themselves of all their boys, they are getting rid of their jerseys too. They are having another jersey auction, with last year's team jerseys, and there is NO Fullerton jersey. WTF??? (* edit - HA, he is there now. Got ya sucka. )
What about ME? What about MY satisfaction? I choose to stand by these boys and it gets me nowhere. The 2007-2008 Mooseheads - Nothing, the 2008-2009 Sea Dogs - Nothing, my string of real life boyfriends - Nothing.
Where is my President's cup? Where is my satisfaction? You selfish bastards - all of you. It is like I get fucked over, and over, and over again, but to no avail.
She cheered for a goal, she must be happy. She keeps coming back for more, she must be happy. I want to throw things at you.
Why don't you just ask if I am happy? You know what you have to do but you fail to do it. Instead you just keep pounding away: useless trades, aquiring draft picks, bringing in thuggish free agents, reclamation projects. No wins. Can't someone just get the damn job done...
JB says he is being proactive with my secret lovers, the Sea Dogs; and as for the Mooseheads... I think I am settling. We have just grown so comfortable together and I am a sucker for dissatisfaction. I think I am drawn to things that are guaranteed to disappoint. It is my masochistic nature.
*Also of note
Where the fuck do people on message boards come up with their bullshit? Why do I waste my time reading their bullshit? I think it is because I just like getting angry. I refuse to participate in their bullshittery. I have bigger, better trouble to be getting myself into.
Me? I stick with quotes, facts, stuff I actually saw at games, newspaper references, links, things that are clearly bullshit (Claude Giroux is obviously not a hockey playing squirrel), my opinion - which I never tried to pass off as fact, and sexual innuendo. Lots and lots of sexual innuendo.

Last night things got very Kirky...in OUR barn.
I will keep this short and sweet. The Mooseheads lost to the Saint John Sea Dogs by a score of 5-4 in the shootout. Captain Alex Grant got the winner for the Sea Dogs. The Moose (Knotek, Cheremetiev and Gerrad Grant) all did the same move in the shootout. All failed epically (I'm looking at you GG).
The Moose scored on the power play, thrice in five, against a team with the best PK unit in the league (87.3%), and despite the fact that we rarely ever have a player park their ass in front of the net. Our PP is all about long unscreened shots, Knotek was back on the point. That may be why we have the third worst PP in the league at 16.2%. It makes me cry.
Moose power-play goals were scored by Yuri Cheremetiev (x2 with assists by Bona and Grant, then Bona and Knotek), and Graham Bona (Knotek). Gerrad Grant had an unassisted goal at even strength.
DiDo and Sparling had goals for the Sea Dogs but it was wee sprig Michael Kirkpatrick who stole the show (despite not getting a shootout goal). While I love Kirky with all of my 5 hearts I was mildly bitter that he assisted in our fall. I still cheered wildly for him when he got first star of the game for his 2 goals and 2 assists. Damn you Kirky!!! Here, have a cookie...but do not enjoy it (or else).
In case you were wondering, I have been assured by a friend from North Sydney that he is not a machine, but a normal human boy who has developed in normal human boy ways (except that he was possibly birthed with skates on his feet). It is because of his mad Kirky skillz that he was named QMJHL offensive player of the week.
Corbeil faced 33 shots, Mayer faced 36; both allowed 4 goals. Sea Dog David Stich took one to the belly, and still managed to play the next shift. Now, THAT is a STUD. Who needs a goalie when you have Stich?
The first intermission interview was with Saint Bernard. He is delightfully charming, full of smiles and he can spell Cheremetiev. He would not sing for us but he managed to get in one of those Pender is stoopid jabs that I love so much. Apparently the puberty moustache is not his own doing...it is all Alex MacDonald's fault, therefore I do not fault him for not shaving it off for me. Grow a mighty tickler young Bernard, let it flow mighty and free.

WOW...Moose Win
The Halifax Mooseheads defeated the Saint John Sea Dogs by a score of 4-2. Mathieu Corbeil gets the win for the Moose after stopping 31 of 33 shots on net for a 0.939 save %. Le Sigh Mathieu, just... le sigh. Thanks for backstopping that win. I am glad you were voted my number 1 QMJHL boyfriend. The world is turning on Yetman...do you think he noticed?
Scoring for the Mooseheads were Tomas Knotek, Saint Bernard, Travis Randell and Yuri Cheremetiev (unassisted). Cheremetiev also had two assists and was awarded first star of the game. McDonald, MacDonald, Bernard, Pender and Piette also had assists.
When the Moose were up 3-1, my beloved Michael Kirkpatrick scored and almost foiled our plans, bringing the Dogs to within one. Luckily (or through hard work, perserverence and magical baby goalie power) we held on for the win. The Moose were outshot (33 to 29), out hit and out face-offed but still managed to bring the cookies home to momma...and just when I had given-up on never seeing another win in my life.
Well actually, I never did see that win, because the computer I am working on did not have the correct software to allow me to watch the streaming video...but still, you know what I mean.
Thank you boys (-1). I feel better already.

Sea Dogs will make me happy
This afternoon the Mooseheads will be taking on the Saint John Sea Dogs at Harbour Station in Saint John. The Dogs are on a roll right now, having just decimated shiny magical Moncton goaltender king Nicola Riopel, by putting 5 past him on 33 shots, and ultimately defeating Moncton last night in a shootout .
Prior to that they were on the road in Quebec, the telus West tour, and unlike the Mooseheads who left Quebec with 4 losses, the Sea Dogs came home after 4 road wins, a motivational chat with Mike Fisher, and a delictable greasy meal reward of pizza and chicken wings.
Where the Mooseheads had no players participating on Canada's team (Yuri played for Russia) for the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge, the Sea Dogs had four: Despres, Sauve, Grant and Anthony (in place for DiDomenico). Alex Grant was the player of the game for Canada, after Canada fell 4-3 to the Russians.
Right now the Sea Dogs are led in scoring by Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Christopher DiDomenico, who has 8 goals and 18 assists for 26 points in 20 games. My wee Caper sprig (Damn Caper-Dar), and favorite Sea Dogs forward Michael Kirkpatrick is leading the team in goals with 15 goals and 7 assists in 27 games; he is third overall in team scoring. Keven Charland is also up there with 19 points in 27 games.
New guy Alexei Dostoinov is fitting in really well, having just taken an injured DiDomenico's spot on the top line. The previously defective 20 year old forward Payton Liske has started to heat up as well, having recently earned a Q-offensive player of the week nomination following his efforts on the Quebec road trip.
Both Sauve and Despres are contributing more offensively this season, with Sauve now at 15 points (3G, 12A) in 22 games, and Despres leading the team in hits as well as tallying 1 goal and 13 assists in 27 games. Just this week past Simon was the Q's defensive player of the week. He also tops all Q players in Central scouting's most recent NHL draft list. Sea Dogs back-up goaltender Karel St-Laurent is 3rd in QMJHL draft eligable goaltenders.
Some stupid fans think the Moose could trade Logan MacMillan for Kirky +++ but those people are fools. The Dogs know what Kirky brings: goal scoring, defensive responsiblilty, excellent shadowy substance skillz, and he already fits in well with his team, chemistry wise. As a bonus he has another good 1.5- 2.5 years in the league (poor undrafted boy), unlike Logan who has only a half year remaining.
Moose vs Sea Dogs 30 minutes and counting. I do not have a boring life where I wait for hockey to happen...I am stuck on a microscope for hours on end, and in the meantime I can watch hockey. OK I admit it, I have a boring life, on a microscope, I am a total poindextress and I quit my goalie which makes me sad. Some life choices are painful and difficult, but better for you in the long run. I am currently -1 goalie friend and I have no goalie prospects lined up. I lose - but better goalieless than feeling like a fool on a daily basis...so I guess ultimately I win.

Updates: Better late than never
The QMJHL has announced its offensive and defensive players of the week . After weeks of being in the running our Bavarian Liebe Timo Pielmeier has finally won the prize. New jersey, same pretty face, same mad skillz.
On the offensive end, the Mooseheads own Tomas Knotek was nominated (3G, 3A, +2 in 2 games), but prizes were instead awarded to Yannick Riendeau of the Drummondville Voltigeurs for his 5 goals, 2 assists and +4 rating.
In Sea Dogs News:
The Dogs have released free-agent forwards Andrew Howes and Kyle Paige. I bet they (JB) are regretting giving up Francois Gauthier now. Silly bunts. Francois has 11 points since joining the Foreurs, 5 goals and 6 assists in 11 games. Paige has 1 goal and 2 assists in 11 games since the Sea Dogs chose him to replace Gauthier...because he is taller. I want to flick JB in the middle of his forehead. If I stand on Francois' shoulders together we might be able to reach.
18 Year old rookie Andrew Howes, despite lighting it up in the pre-season, had only 2 goals and 2 assists in 13 regular season games, and was a -3. Poor baby Howes.
What I don't get is the lackadaisical treatment of Matthew Stoddard. 18 year old Stoddard has played in 20 games but only has one goal, and is a -9. Stoddard's only advantage is his face offs win %, which stands around 56%. My Conclusion - the Sea Dogs are Fucked up.

Ich spreche kein Deutsch my dearest Timo, but I still liebe you. Montreal goalie Jake Allen, and defencemen Jordan Southorn (PEI) and Marc-Andre Bourdon (Rouyn-Noranda) were also in the running. The Cataractes’ goaltender was stellar in two road wins versus the Montreal Juniors and the Quebec Remparts, posting a 1.00 goals-against-average and .960 save percentage. The German native, a third round draft pick in 2007 (San Jose), is second in the QMJHL in goals-against-average at 2.09 and tied for second in wins with 12. Shawinigan has won twelve straight, one short of the franchise record.
