Jake Allen invited to the NHL combine...

...for processing? kinda ...but it is most likely for analysis. Seventeen year old New Maryland New Brunswick native Jake Allen has had a breakout season this year playing in goal for the St. John's Fog Devils. He is listed #8 overall by the NHL for North American goalies at the entry draft, and is ranked as the #4 goalie by International Scouting Services. In his rookie season Jake has had 9 wins, including 2 shutouts, 12 losses, and posted a 3.14 GAA and 0.901 save%. He was also invited to play for Canada at the IIHF world under 18 tournament in Russia this spring. Canada won Gold and Jake had a 1.43 save %, thus earning him the Most Valuable Player of the tournament award.

The NHL combine is an opportunity for teams to meet with prospective players. Only 100 players are invited. It is here that players undergo interviews, participate in psychological evaluations and undergo medical examination and fitness testing. The fitness testing does not look fun.

But here is the fun part - according to the Telegraph Journal "Scouts representing the St. Louis Blues, Montreal Canadiens and New Jersey Devils have called the Allen's house".

The New 'Fricken' Jersey Devils. Woooooooooo. Is it because he already has a Devil on his mask?
