Because I love Guillaume

Guillaume Monast. Remember him 'Fatty' and 'Peg Legs'? You sat behind me through most of the playoffs and made fun of him despite not ever having played hockey in your life. So many people loved to diss my sweet Guillaume. Yeah well, Guillaume (now with the Remparts) has been rocking it with the Dallas Stars at the Traverse City tournament.

Defensively, Trevor Ludwig (sixth round, 2004), Ivan Vishnevskiy (first round, 2006) and Guillaume Monast (tryout), who finished a plus-4 in three games, made solid impressions.

As a result of his awesome play Guillaume has been invited to stars training camp. According to Dallas Stars blog:

The Stars have decided to invite Guillaume Monast to training camp. The tryout defenseman is 20, and played in Halifax last season. He had 30 points in 65 games in the QMJHL last season.

"Monast is a guy we will take to Dallas,'' co-GM Les Jackson said. "He's earned that. He's a big kid, he's rangy, and he has some good raw material.''
