Under 18 training camp invites

The days since the NHL draft have been excessively dull. I have been having only sporadic thoughts of goalies and have instead been flitting away my life with actual work. The vast majority of my thoughts are focused on being angry that weather was bad for the Nova Scotia multicultural festival (again) and that the representative from the Philippines selling bbq meat on a stick was nowhere to be found. I waited all year for that. It is almost as disappointing as being swept in the third round of the playoffs (I said almost).

If I have anything to look forward to it is Cormier and Berube in Devils Jerseys. Damn boys, youse looking good *meow*. Boys magically get 10 x dreamier when they put on a NJ Devils jersey. I think Berube knew he was going to the devils, this is why he wore a red dress shirt.

Getty images makes me cry because they put big ugly tags over images. That is why we use yahoo sports page (best with internet explorer) for all of our buggy eyed hockey player gawking.

In post draft news, Hockey Canada has announced the players invited to participate in the selection camp for the 2009 Men's Under 18 Team. You can check out the complete roster at the Hockey Canada website. Big hoorahs go out to the Halifax Mooseheads own 'Old Man Randell' who is apparently not all that old since he has been invited to participate in training camp for an under 18 team - huh. Could have fooled me.

Two Q goalies have also been invited to participate, my sweet little cuddling partners Olivier Bellavance-Roy (Cape Breton Screaming Eagles) and Maxime Clermont (Gatineau Olympiques).
To top it off sweet little big boy Simon Despres (Saint John Sea Dogs) was also invited. Of course Simon was invited, if he was not I would have gone to Hockey Canada headquarters, hunted down, and choked all of the appropriate bitches.

Other QMJHL invitees include:

Defence:
Hubert Labrie (Gatineau Olympiques)
Gleason Fornier (Rimouski Oceanic)
Mikael Tam (Quebec Remparts)
Brad Yetman (Shawinigan Cataractes)

Forwards:
Steven Anthony (Saint John Sea Dogs)
Matthew Brown (Moncton Wildcats)
David Gilbert (Quebec Remparts) - I cry myself to sleep because you do not love me David.

In other Mooseheads news -
since we decided to keep Voracek on our protected list we cannot draft at this year's European draft. We decided instead to trade our European pick to Moncton for a 6th round pick in the 2009 QMJHL entry draft. Yes big news - Whoopie do.

another great site for images, but must be checked regularly, especially during season, they only post so many pics so as new ones come in, old ones gone.
